David is chairman and chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer and prior to that, he served as co-head of the Investment Banking Division from 2006 to 2016. Before that, David was global head of the Financing Group, which includes all capital markets and derivative products for the firm’s corporate clients. He joined Goldman Sachs as a partner in 1999.
Prior to joining the firm, David held leadership roles at Irving Trust Company, Drexel Burnham and Bear Stearns. David is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamilton College and serves on the board of The Robin Hood Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of NewYork Presbyterian Hospital.
David earned a BA in Political Science from Hamilton College.

Marc Jaffe, Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ New York office and an industry-leading capital markets practitioner, represents clients in their most sophisticated capital markets and financing transactions. He guides prominent companies, investment banks, private equity and venture capital funds, and other investors on high-profile and precedent-setting corporate matters that define global markets.
Additionally, Marc maintains an active Israel practice, advising emerging and established Israel-based issuers on corporate finance transactions and helping to solidify Latham’s position as the top firm for Israeli IPOs in the US market for the past five years.
Garnering recognition from leading legal publications, Marc was named a Star Individual in Capital Markets: Debt & Equity by Chambers USA 2024, a Distinguished Leader by the New York Law Journal, and a Notable Leader in Accounting, Consulting and Law by Crain’s New York Business.
Marc earned an AB from Harvard University and JD from the University of Chicago Law School.
